The State Route (SR 710) Mitigation Project represents eight individual transportation projects that were designed to reduce traffic congestion caused by the gap in SR 710.  These projects were selected by the federally mandated SR 710 Design Advisory Group (DAG) working together with City staff.  The DAG identified projects that would accomplish the following objectives:

  • Move traffic away from neighborhoods and onto major commercial traffic corridors

  • Improve mobility within those major commercial corridors

  • Conform with the goals of the General Plan Mobility Element and complement other transportation measures including those associated with new development in the area

The street improvement projects that are scheduled to be constructed between Fall 2004 and Fall 2008 are as follows:
