The street
lighting will be constructed in two phases. The first phase consists of all
the foundations and underground conduit on both sides of Avenue 64 from
Colorado Boulevard to Burleigh Drive with new lighting standards only on the
side of the street opposite the existing utility poles. Decorative arms
have been ordered to replace the arms originally ordered for this project.
In addition,
all of the lighting work on La Loma Road between Avenue 64 and San Rafael
Avenue is included in Phase One. This phase is currently under construction
and is scheduled to be completed by the end of May 2007. The completion
date had to be extended as the result of the change of the luminaire arms
from the standard arm to a decorative arm.
The second
phase consists of the installation of new lighting standards on Avenue 64
from Colorado Boulevard to Burleigh Drive that could not be installed
because of interference with the overhead utility lines. In addition,
foundations, underground conduit and new lighting standards will be
installed on the east side of Avenue 64 from Burleigh Drive to the south
City limit south of Church Street. Phase Two will begin as soon as the
existing utility poles and overhead wires are removed. |
