NORTHWEST DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

The function of the Northwest Programs Office is to maintain a healthy business environment in the northwest area of Pasadena and to facilitate redevelopment projects through the entitlement process in coordination with other departments.

We recognize that a healthy residential and business sector provides the resources necessary to sustain jobs and services for our citizens. Business attraction, retention and expansion of programs are successfully being implemented to improve the City's revenue base, create jobs for residents, and provide for the overall well being of the northwest business community.

City staff and the Northwest Programs Office work in conjunction with the Northwest Commission, the Pasadena Community Development Commission and local officials to establish and maintain relations with business leaders through a variety of redevelopment and community plans to preserve and expand existing retail/commercial centers throughout the project areas serving local and neighborhood needs.

Northwest Pasadena continues to experience successful economic revitalization and rebirth with recent development projects that include: Fair Oaks Renaissance Plaza, Foothill Vocational Opportunities, Inc., CVS, Starbucks, Bryant Office Building, Toledo Holmes Office Building, Renaissance Court, Orange Grove Gardens, Heritage Court, with more projects proposed or currently under construction.

Additionally, the Northwest Programs Office plans and coordinates special activity programs that embrace the diversity of the Northwest community, such as the Annual Renaissance Festival, "Lunch with the Future" at John Muir High School, Youth Ambassador Program, and other activities of great interest to area residents.

Our programs include the following:
