CODE COMPLIANCE

Final Zoning Inspection

A final zoning inspection and approval may be required for a building project prior to issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy or before the building inspector gives their final sign off on the project. The purpose of a final zoning inspection is to verify compliance of  zoning code requirements and discretionary conditions of approval for required projects. The final zoning inspection requirements are pre-determined during plan check review and approval.

A final zoning inspection and approval is standard for the following project types:
   1) commercial construction,
   2) residential construction within a hillside zone,
   3) residential and commercial construction with discretionary conditions of
       approval, and
   4) multi-family residential construction.

Before a final zoning inspection is scheduled, the inspection fee must be paid. The current cost for a final zoning inspection may be found by consulting the Permit Center's Online Fee Schedule, and will include a 3% records management surcharge.

Multiple City staff may be required to verify complex land use requirements.

ALL FINAL ZONING INSPECTION REQUESTS ARE SCHEDULED THROUGH THE CITY'S CODE COMPLIANCE OFFICE.
