Description
Description
Review
and make recommendations on all matters to come before the
Community Development Commission prior to Commission action,
except emergency matters and matters which the Commission, by
resolution, excludes from Committee review and recommendation.
The Committee has all the power of
the Commission except: sue and be sued; sell property;
delegate authority to redevelopment agency; contract with
other public agencies; acquire property by purchase, lease,
gift or eminent domain; borrow money for redevelopment
purposes; finance housing construction and rehabilitation; and
such other powers as shall be withheld by ordinance of the
City Council or resolution of the Commission.
Composition
Nine
members, two of which shall be tenants of the Pasadena
Community Development Commission {"Commission"} at
least one of which shall be over 62 years of age if the
Commission has tenants of such age. The two tenant members
shall be part-time members of the Committee in that they will
review and make recommendations on all matters to come before
the Commission prior to Commission action relating to all
matters necessary or convenient to carry out the purposes and
provisions of the Housing Authorities Law {Health and Safety
Code Section 34310 et.seq.}. Pasadena residency required
Members are required to file annual Statements of Economic
Interest.
Term
of Office

years for each of the 7 members nominated by each of the
council members. Limited to each of 2 consecutive terms. Two
years for each of the two tenant members from the date of
appointment with no limit on consecutive terms.
